Brad Pitt is another Hollywood type to give us mere mortals his learned opinion on what should be done to those responsible for the BP oil leaks. I guess going to actor's school qualifies you to speak on virtually everything .
HOLLYWOOD heavyweight Brad Pitt said he would consider the "death penalty" for the BP executives responsible for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The Ocean's Eleven star made the claim in a new documentary about his project to build 150 affordable homes in a hurricane-hit area of New Orleans, , the Daily Mail reported.
When asked about the people responsible for the Gulf oil spill, which is off shore from New Orleans, Pitt said, "I was never for the death penalty before - I am willing to look at it again."
The documentary If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise was meant to be a positive film about Pitt's "Make it Right" project.
The project rebuilt affordable and sustainable homes in the area hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Film makers extended the documentary to include details about the Gulf oil spill.
Almost five million barrels of oil leaked into the ocean after an explosion at BP's Deepwater Horizon oil rig in April. The well spilled oil for 87 days before it was capped.
Maybe we should also have harsh penalties for celebrity hypocrites who have huge carbon footprints from their jetset lifestyle if we are to deal properly with environmental crimes.
